Wallpaper Tutorial
Learn to make a Wallpaper like this:

Done in PS 7. Should translate fairly easily.

Alright, I first started with this texture from Bruno’s Honeypot http://www.brunos-honeypot.net/

I placed my picture on it and added a dark blue exclusion layer at 60%. Make sure that when you make the new layer for the color, you click the ‘group with previous layer’ box because only to add the exclusion layer to the picture. Of course you could add the blue exclusion layer before pasting your picture on the texture…it would be easier. I apparently didn’t think I’d want to add coloring until after I had my picture on the texture :p

Next I pasted this frame from Iconistas on top of my picture, flipped it, and scaled it to fit over my picture. I used the magic wand tool to select the black area and cut it out

Then I added a gradient map to desaturate the frame. Make sure that ‘group with previous layer’ is checked so that only the frame is desaturated.

Then I took this brush from Bruno’s Honey Pot and added it in black on top of my frame.

Then I just added a bunch of grungy brushes in black and the reddish tones off of the texture and one of the blue/green from the bottom of the texture. I also added a couple of text brushes. All of these brushes also came from Bruno’s Honey Pot Grunge sets

Then I took Fuel’s logo and added it, setting it to Softlight at 94%. I also added a gradient map to this to desaturate the logo.

Next I added my text. I used Times New Roman for everything at varying sizes and opacities. The lyrics are from Fuel’s ‘Million Miles’

Now next I took this texture from Meleada that I seem to use on every graphic of mine. LOL

I set it to Softlight 100% and then I took my rectangle marquee tool and cut out the area of the texture that was over my picture. I then pasted the selection that I’d just cut out back on and set it to Softlight 58% and erased the areas over their faces.

Finally I added another black and white gradient map(normal blend mode) and lowered the opacity down to 44%.
